About Us

How We're Helping

Volunteers for Palliative Care Inc. embrace Palliative Care Australia's philosophy to "maximise quality of life and assist families and carers". We are a non-clinical palliative care support service providing respite at no cost for palliative care patients, carers and their families living in the Maitland local government area. We are a not for profit organisation funded by NSW Health. We were established in 1990 after several years of lobbying Government by members of our community for a local Palliative Care non-clinical support service.

Who We're Helping

We work in partnership with and take referrals from Hunter New England (HNE) Local Health District (LHD), general practitioners and other palliative care non government organisations. Of course, you may also self refer
