Volunteer-based Services

Volunteers for Palliative Care offer a range of services to those facing end of life challenges. Click the links below to learn more.

We accept referrals from GP’s, Palliative Care Services and self-referrals who meet the following criteria:

Reside in the Maitland Local Government Area
Have a progressive, life limiting illness with a prognosis of around 24 months or less
Have limited family or community supports, experiences isolation and/or is unable to find suitable transport to essential medical appointments.

Please note, our volunteers are unable to provide personal care, do housework, manage medication, or give nursing support.
