Our Transport Volunteers

Our Transport Volunteers:

Supporting Our Community Through Transport

Our dedicated team of Transport Volunteers are specially trained to offer No Fee, personalised transport for individuals facing life-limiting illness. Our volunteers play a crucial role in helping clients attend their essential medical appointments, such as radiation, chemotherapy and specialist medical.

Understanding that our clients may not always feel well or may prefer minimal conversation, our volunteers are equipped to provide the extra support needed to ensure safe and comfortable journeys. Each volunteer accompanies their client from their home to the waiting room and back, offering supervision and assistance throughout the entire trip. This service not only prioritises the well-being of our clients but also provides peace of mind for family members and caregivers.

To sustain this vital service and show appreciation for their commitment, we offer our Transport Volunteers travel reimbursement. This initiative helps ensure the longevity of our program and acknowledges the invaluable time our volunteers dedicate to supporting others.

If you know someone in the Maitland Community who could benefit from our Transport Support, we encourage you to download our fact sheet and complete a referral form. You can contact the Volunteer Coordinator via email info@palliativecaremaitland.org.au or phone 0459 712 725.
